Introduction to SimpleWaterfall Pro
SimpleWaterfall Pro is a Power BI custom visual that shows how a starting value becomes an ending value through a series of positive and negative steps. It is built for variance analysis, budget to actual, bridges and margin walks.
Pillars and steps
A waterfall is made of two kinds of bar.
- Pillars: absolute values, such as Gross Sales, Net Sales or Gross Margin
- Steps: the changes that explain the gap between two pillars, such as Discount or Material Cost
The native Power BI waterfall gives you a single total. SimpleWaterfall Pro lets you define as many pillars as your model needs, drill through a category hierarchy in place, and format every part of the chart.
